Plot Summary - A small village is persecuted by bandits who take their rice crop every harvest. Unable to fight the bandits themselves the villages send out a group to find some samurai to defend them. But being very poor the only payment they can offer is rice. And so 3 of the villages set out on their mission to find some very hungry samurai.
Episode 01 - Slash!
The first thing that strikes you is the character designs - colorful, interesting, funky and all the characters look very different from each other - this is a Gonzo production! OMG I especially love the clothes the villages wear:
Also hoping that the personalities of the characters will be as different as their looks. It feels like this is going to be quite fast paced in terms of the story, hopefully that won’t hamper the character development. I’m also worried it might play all the usual shonen cards but so far samurai 7 is quite unique. Forgot to mention above, the music is fab as is the background art!
Pros - Loads! Especially character design, art & music
Cons - May turn into a bad cheesy shounen
